Who started KFC?

The founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken ( K.F.C ) is Colonel Handers Sanders. His real name was Harland David Sanders. He was an American businessman. businessman. He was born on September 9, 1890, in Henryville, Indiana in the United States. His mother was Margaret Ann Sanders and father Wilbur David Sanders. He also has a brother Clarence and a sister Catherine.

His family was a happy family. But unfortunately in summer 1895, Wilbur( Harland’s father) demised due to high fever. Harland was just 5 years old when his father passed away. After the death of Wilbur, the economic condition of their family became worst. So for the economic asset, Harland’s mother( Margaret Ann Sanders ) went out of the country to work in a factory. All the responsibilities were on the shoulder’s Harland. He has to take care of his sister( Catherine) and brother ( Clarence ). Before going to work, she taught Harland all the household works like cooking foods, washing clothes, and many more. So at the age of 7, Harland was perfect in making food. From childhood, he used to cook tasty food. From the beginning, he wanted to make roast chicken.

In 1902, Harland again married to William Radot. After married, they shifted to Greenwood of Indiana. But there was not a good relationship between Harland and his stepfather. Harland was hated by his stepfather. So this was the reason, that forced Harland to left his home and transferred to farmland and worked there. Staying far from home, he didn’t get any chance to study further. He only studied till the 7th class.

At the age of 13, he went to Indianapolis city where he started painting the two-wheeled horse-drawn vehicles. After a few days, he left that work. In 1906 he went to New Albany, Indiana with his uncle and settled with him. His uncle used work for a company in Street Car. So, with the support of his uncle, Harland got the job of a conductor. Later he also worked as a fireman (a person who tends a furnace or the fire of a steam engine or steamship) on the train. While working he met a girl named Josephine King. In 1909, nearly at the age of 19, he married her. Later, they had a son and two daughters. Now Harland thought that his life will be better. But one day, he had a quarrel with a person in Train and he was expelled from his job. When he was expelled from his job, his mother as well as children left him. This hurt him a lot. But he didn’t let himself fail in life. Again he started searching for jobs. He sold insurance and credit, started a tire’s business, and many more. But he couldn’t get success in those works or jobs.

The successful journey of Harland David Sanders( KFC )

The successful journey of Harland started when he went to Cabin( a small town in Kentucky ).hw opened a cafe station in route 25 of America. He also opened a restaurant where he used to cook the chicken roast. The chicken made by Harland was extremely loved by people. So Harland planned to grow his business in the same field. To get success over it, he should have a quality education about hotel management. So for 8 weeks, he took a course in Hotel Management from Cornell University. From here you can also know “How important is an education in your life?”

The chicken roast cooked by Harland was really liked by the governor of Kentucky that he added the title of Colonel in front of Harland Sanders.

In 1937, he tried to make his branch in different places. But again he was unsuccessful. After a few years, there was constructed a highway near his restaurant. So he was in a loss. And his restaurant was also closed. His income from the restaurant was finished. He was also too old. His age reached 62. But he believed in his talent of making a chicken roast. So he went to many restaurants for working as a cook but wasn’t accepted in any restaurant. He almost visited 1000 restaurants. Then again he opened his own restaurant. Again it was liked by many people. But that time he succeeds.

Eventually, his unique recipe for making chicken roast was popular all around the world. In more than 118 countries, it has its branches.

The first KFC franchise was opened in the United States in 1952.
