If you are going to create your own blog or website. Then you must have your domain that represents your URL’s address. For example, my domain is geta.com.np. In other countries, we have to pay for the domain. But fortunately, Nepal offers you a free domain. So in this article, we will discuss:-

There are many sites where you can create your own website and they provide you free domain too. Some of these sites are with domain’s sample provided by them are:-

There are two types of domains you can get from the Nepal domain registration website. They are:-
Personal domain
A personal domain is a domain for personal use for your personal website or blog.
Note:- Personal domain name should be based n the applicant’s name that is mentioned in his/her citizenship. Else, your domain name wouldn’t be successfully registered.
Organizational domain
The organizational domain is the domain for your organization, institution, etc. for schools or colleges, you can choose domain .edu.np and accordingly.
Note:- You can register the domain name based on your organization’s name or product’s name.
You also need to provide all details of your organization or institution.
To register a domain name. You need to login to two sites:-
Today we are only discussing registering a personal domain.
The things that are required to register a personal domain name:-
Citizenship( Backside& Frontside)
Cover letter
First, go to the site https://register.com.np.
Then, fill in the domain name that you want and check whether it is available or not.
For example:- If your name in citizenship is Sujal Khatri. Then, you can only create the domain based on that name such as:-
Sujalkhatri.com.np Khatrisujal.com.np sujal.com.np
When your domain name is available. Click in “ Register Now”.
After you click in register now. You have to log in with your e-mail address. You should provide the right information here.
Verify your e-mail and fill the form of administrative contact that is asked for.
There you will be asked the primary and secondary servers.
In the primary server, write ns4.he.net.
In the secondary server, write ns5.he.net.
Finally, they will ask you for a photo of your citizenship (Backside & Frontside), and a cover letter.
Then you can continue. In 48 hours, your domain will be approved if all the information is correct.
You will be notified in your e-mail.
Note:- While uploading photos of citizenship and cover letter. The photos should not be rotated. It must be uploaded straight otherwise you won’t get approved.
You should be careful in every little thing.
You guys may be wondering about “What is a cover letter?”
A cover letter is like the application to request a mercantile company to register your domain. It is like an application that you commonly write in school. Here is a sample of the cover letter.
On the cover letter, you also need to give your signature. Click here to generate your signature. This site will generate a signature for you. Just type letters. And remember signature doesn’t matter. It’s just for formality.
How to add the domain to your blog?
After you get approved, you should register for the next site. https://dns.he.net
First register at this site with your correct information.
Verify your e-mail and login into it.
Then click on the add new domain.
Fill it with the domain name of which you got approved in Nepal .com.np domain registration site.
Now your domain is successfully added to this website. Now you have to do some modifications there. Click on the edit option.
After clicking in New A. Some options will be available to you. Leave the name’s field blank.
Then you can see the option i.e Ipv4 address. There you need to add google addresses. They are.
- 216.239.38.21
- 216.239.36.21
- 216.239.34.21
- 216.239.32.21
Repeat the process by using all IP address that I have mentioned above. That means you should create New A four times with all unique IP addresses.
Now you have to go to your blog setting.
In setting, go to a custom domain and type your domain name there. Then click on save and update. Then it will appear like below.
There you can see two Cnames written where you can see Name and Destination.
For example in the above photo
Name: www, Destination: ghs.google.com) and
Name: llejfthhfshz, Destination: gv-pxacutmvqb2ahe.dv.googlehosted.com)
Go to another site( https://dns.he.net ) and click on New Cnames as you do while creating New A.
Then there will appear options.
You will see the option (Name). Then paste the Cnames’s name(www) there and Destination in the Hosting option and the rest should be kept default.
Similarly, do it once again by taking another Name and Destination.
Then click in save. And in 1-2 days the domain will be verified. Then you can simply go to the blog setting and add your custom domain.
Now, you are done. You have successfully added your domain to the blog.
