The brains behind this mastermind innovation are Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, Jawed karim( employees of paypal company). Steve and Chad left Paypal after it got acquired by ebay in 2002. Later Hurley left the company and flew to silicon valley to serve as a consultant whereas steve continued working with PayPal for two more years in order to launch money sending and receiving site in china.

The concept of youtube came at the beginning of 2005.In 2005, there was a dinner party in the apartment of Steve Chen.Many people clicked videos but there was a problem with sharing videos for those who weren’t present there. Actually, Jawed Karim wasn’t present at the party. So Jawed Karim asked for the video but the video was so long that he couldn’t send it. For the solution of this problem, they decided to create a video sharing website where gigantic videos can also be transferred easily.They wanted to do something along the line of flikr which was one of the new site that allows people to share photographs. This gave birth to youtube.

According to Jawed Karim,

The concept of youtube came in 2006.When Janet Jackson( American Singer- songwriter) was performing a concert with justin timbarlake. In the concert Justin pulled the clothes of Janet and her dress slipped.So Jawed wanted to see that video but that video didn’t reach him. He also thought that there might be many videos that people want to see but can’t. That video was also banned for showing on T.V and there was not any source to watch that video.  So the concept of youtube came.

When all of them discuss with each other about the concept of youtube. Then they all got inspired by the website named hot or not and began to create website. Hot or not was the online dating website. They didn’t make any delay in creating the website. Soon they registered domain name youtube.com on 14 February 2005. The first-ever video on youtube is “ Me at the zoo” uploaded by co-founder of youtube Jawed Karim on 23 april, 2005 which is still available on youtube. The video was recorded at a zoo situated at San diego.

Directly they didn't go for youtube. At first they created an online dating site named tune in hook up. Youtube isn't a project. It's a platform for many people.

The success journey of youtube started when it got support and investments.
From November 2005 to April 2006, they also got investors for youtube. The amount of investment was nearly 5 million dollars. At first, the head office of youtube was upstairs to a restaurant located at sent Mario.in November 2005 the company sequoia capital invested a total of 3.5 million dollar.then in December 2005, youtube was legally launched. The site was getting an average of 8 lakhs views per day. On 13 November 2006 Google officially acquired youtube. In May 2007 youtube started a partner program based on AdSense. According to that program, the content creator as well as youtube generates revenue from the ads shown in their video. Its ratio was somehow 45% for youtube and 55% for the content creators. From 2010 youtube started streaming online where they did a live cast of total 7 matches of IPL. In order to make this site user-friendly, they changed its interference On 31 March 2010. At that time, nearly 2 billion people daily watched the video
In 2011 every minute 48 hours of lengthy video was uploaded. Gradually it increased and finally in 2020 normally 500 videos were being uploaded per minute. Slowly youtube began to take its place on the internet and reach this position. So that's all.
